Trees for Survival is a charitable trust which works with over 150 schools and local communities across New Zealand to grow and plant native trees along waterways and on erosion prone hillsides.
New Zealand Steel has supported Trees for Survival for more than 15 years. Students grow seedlings throughout the year to plant on environmentally at-risk sites during planting season (May - August).
This year students from our local schools planted over 3,500 native plants in our community as part of the Trees for Survival programme.
